Dr. May has been actively involved with continuing education all of his 22 years in practice. He not only
attends many lectures throughout the United States, but also is a well-known lecturer on many orthodontic
techniques. He has lectured on subjects such as early treatment in children with functional jaw orthopedics,
cosmetic adult accelerated treatment, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems in children and adults. He feels
that by continuously learning and lecturing about orthodontics he can give his patients the best
orthodontic treatment possible.
Dr. May attended college at the University of Oklahoma from 1968-1972, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Psychology. He attended dental school at the University of Louisville from 1972-1973. He completed his
dental degree at the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston in 1977. His post-graduate residency in
Orthodontics was also at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas from 1977-1979. He has been
engaged in private practice in Houston since 1979.
He is a member of many organizations including: the Houston District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association,
American Dental Association, Oklahoma Dental Association, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, American
Association of Orthodontists, American Association for Functional Orthodontists, Society for Occlusal Studies,
Southwest Craniomandibular Society, Houston Orthognathic Study Seminars, and the Houston Regional Society of
Orthodontists.
